30-HOUR FAMINE 2010

After six Camp Leader Trainings, 132 Camp Leaders have been
trained to lead their own Famine Camps around Malaysia! Now
we're looking for Malaysians to join and learn more about
hunger and poverty through these 132 DIY Famine Camps.

The official 30-Hour Famine Countdown will be on 22 August
2010 at the Bukit Jalil Stadium from 12pm-4pm.

No matter how...who are right or wrong!by pointing finger to blame each others?For me if hurt someone in the war, caused casualties and death. Just because of national political reasons! As Leaders but behaved immature and childish way by doing the inhuman and crazy wars action without seriously thinking about how to treasure life, but willing to bet the precious lives of other people in the war fighting” that is not Hero! That is unfair for innocent citizens to suffer it! ''), Somehow innocent people died like that, a lot of victims suffered from this injustice war treatment had lost everything. How painful it is and so cruel for them! This is unacceptable reason to have war!Pls Stop it.

World Vision Malaysia’s goals for the 30-Hour Famine are:
 To heighten awareness on global social issues caused by poverty and its impact on children.
 To raise funds amounting to RM 1Million that will be channelled to poverty-alleviation programmes carried out by the World Vision partnership and a local NGOs.

World Vision Malaysia Children’s Development Fund Reach out to children in need; improving their health, living conditions and prospects for a better future:

Kuala Lumpur, Saturday 26 July 2008 – 300 students from 15 universities and colleges around the nation were recognised for leadership in Community Service at the 1st College & University Student Assembly (CUSA) organized by the Collegiate Ambassadors for Peace Network which is a student leadership initiative of the Universal Peace Federation.

To inculcate the spirit of Living for the Sake of Others (volunteerism) and Culture of Service among youth and make them aware of their roles and moral responsibilities in nation building.

CAP is part of a global network of student leaders representing the diversity of the human family. They stand on the common ground of shared principles and are committed
to the path of promoting reconciliation, overcoming barriers, and building peace. The primary objective for the CAP initiative is first and foremost to create a caring community within the university compound. CAP appointees are encouraged to pursue personal excellence through challenging one’s limitations and to use their capacities for the greater good by promoting a life of service towards all aspects of life. CAP is initiated by Universal Peace Federation (UPF).

It was about 3 weeks ago, I was at the Shell station getting diesel.

It was about 11:30pm. I was approached by 2 men and 2 women in a car. The
man that was driving asked me 'What kind of perfume do you wear?' I was a
bit confused and I asked him 'Why?'. He said 'We are selling some name
brand perfumes, at cheap prices.' I said I had no money. He then reached
out of the car and handed me paper that was laminated; it had many
perfumes on it. I looked quickly at it and gave it back. I said, I have no
money.

He said it is OK, we take cheques, cash or credit cards. Then the people in
the car began to laugh. I just got in my car and said no thanks.

Then I received this e-mail yesterday and it chills up my spine. Please
read this. It is not joke. Here is the e-mail I received:

Dear Friends:
I know not all of you are women that I am sending this to, but I am hoping
you will share this with your wives, daughters, mother, sisters, etc. Our
world seems to be getting crazier by the day. Pipe bombs in mailboxes and
sickos in parking lots with perfume. Be careful. I was approached yesterday
afternoon around 1:30 pm in a car park by two males who asked
what kind of perfume I was wearing. Then they asked if I'd like to sample
some fabulous scent they were willing to sell me at a very reasonable rate
I probably would have agreed had I not received an e-mail some weeks ago
warning of a 'Wanna smell this neat perfume?' scam. Someone walks up to you
at the malls or in parking lots and asking you to SNIFF PERFUME that they
are selling at a cheap price. THIS IS NOT PERFUME...IT IS ETHER! When you
sniff it, you'll pass out. They'll take your wallet, your valuables and
heaven knows what else. The men continued to stand between parked cars, I
guess to wait for someone else to hit on.

I stopped a lady going towards them, pointing at them and told her about
how I was sent an e-mail at work.

If it were not for this e-mail, I probably would have sniffed the 'perfume'
but thanks to the generosity of an e-mailing friend, I was spared whatever
might have happened to me. I wanted to do the same for you.
